First shut off angle stop on bottom left hand side of toilet. Put small pan under valve and disconnect supply line from toilet allowing water to drain into pan. Flush toilet one last time emptying tank of water. Plunge toilet bowl flushing remaining water into sewer. Remove caps on sides of bowl with a Flathead screwdriver or scrapper popping caps off. Then undo nuts and lift washers off bolts. Remove existing toilet and carry outside. Scrape sewer flange clean. Make sure sewer flange is level with floor or within a quarter inch in either direction. If not hardware stores sell a white plastic spacer to raise flange to needed height. It sits on top of flange and is held down by the bolts. With sewer flange at proper height install your wax ring, pressing it firmly to the sewer flange. First shut down both hot and cold angle stops (shut off valves) under sink. If they don’t work shut off water to house. Remove both hot and cold flexes from faucet leaving them attached to valves. Drain residual water into small bucket or pan. Undo brackets, nuts etc. under sink by turning them counter clockwise, WD-40 may be needed. After removing hardware and faucet clean sink deck with SOS pad and soap. New base may not match old faucet so clean sink well, removing existing imprint. First try a plunger. If it’s a “soft” stoppage it with clear with just a few plunges. If not, remove the stopper from the pop-up assembly. It might just pull out but if not go under sink and unscrew small nut on backside of pop-up assembly (the pipe attached directly to sink). After you unscrew nut you can remove horizontal rod holding stopper in place. Fifty percent of the time your stoppage will be on the stopper. They get full of buildup and hair, clean off and reinstall. If still backed up, the next step would be to remove the trap under sink by unscrewing the nuts and pulling trap straight down (be sure to place a bowl or pan under trap to catch water).
